#1-Life of an Eagle
Last month, i attended a convention titled 'Student Leadership Convention 2012' @ SLC 2012. One of the speakers mentioned about a life of an eagle. That part of the speech attracted me to post about it here.
An eagle is the one of strongest and fastest predator in earth. It has sharp eyes which enables it to focus focus prey as far from 5 km. It also has strong pair of wing which makes it to glide in a storm. The eagle also has fllexible talons which makes it rarely looses its prey once it has been spotted. This is the external features of an eagle. It has strong and sharp beaks which perfectly designed for ripping flesh away from bone.
The eagle has the longest life-span of its species. Researchers said that an eagle can live up to 70 years. However, an eagle to reach to this age need to make a hard decision. When it reaches about 40 years of its life, its talons cannot longer grab its prey which it serves as its food. Next, its long and sharp beak becomes bent and blunt. Its old-aged and heavy wings due to its thick feathers stick to its chest and make it difficult to fly.
Then, the eagle left with two options only whether to DIE or undergo a painful process called CHANGE.
In this process, the eagle need to fly to top of mountain and sits on its nest. The eagle knock its beak against rock till the beak plucks out. It waits for a new beak to grow back. Then, it starts to plucks out its talon. After its new talon grow backs, it starts to plucking it old-aged feathers.
After this.....
The eagle takes its famous flight of rebirth and lives for more 30 YEARS.
WHY is CHANGE is needed?
In order for us to survive and live. We too need to start our change process. We sometimes need to get rid of unpleasant old memories, negative habits and our fixed mindsets. When we are freed from past burdens, we can take advantage of present.
So, CHANGE ourselves to make us to FLY high as an Eagle..:)
